A family setting, run by a family

Founded in 2019 with love, care and a big vision, Nursery Room is a family-run business dedicated to creating a nurturing and enriching environment for your little ones.

Our founder, Sevjen, is a mum of three with over 10 years’ experience in the nursery industry. She’s experienced firsthand the emotions and worries that come with finding the right childcare — the tears and anxious hearts of early drop-offs — and set out to design a place that combines the best of a nursery and a childminder.

We’re based in a purpose-built nursery building, completed in 2019, just behind our family home — with its own private access and a warm, homely atmosphere. Every family is unique, which is why we’ve created a flexible, understanding approach to both care and fees: no rigid policies or late penalties that add stress to your day.

Sevjen

A mum of three with over 10 years’ experience in the nursery industry, Sevjen founded Nursery Room to give Welling families the home-from-home she wanted for her own children.

Childminder assistant

Marie

A mum of two grown-up children with a Level 2 qualification in childcare and over 10 years’ experience in the nursery environment, Marie is passionate about supporting and nurturing children’s development.

Hannah

Hannah is dedicated to helping children reach their milestones, and loves getting them stuck into hands-on activities — messy play most of all. Outside work she’s happiest making memories with family and friends.

Olivia

Warm, caring and full of energy, Olivia loves messy play, time outdoors and building strong relationships with families so every child feels safe and confident. She’s studying Criminal and Forensic Psychology alongside her work here.

Louise

Louise takes real joy in supporting children’s development through play, and loves creating a fun, nurturing space where they can thrive. Outside work she’s usually with friends, trying somewhere new to eat or heading into London.

Lucy

Lucy helps children build the skills and confidence they need as they grow, in a setting where every one of them feels valued and encouraged. She’s studying Health & Social Care, Law and Sociology at A-level, and plans an apprenticeship in childcare next.

Millie

Millie joined us as an apprentice in February 2023, bringing a creative streak from her background in English, Art and Food Technology. She grew up around animals — a horse and a Shetland pony — and loves teaching the children how to care for them safely.

We’re inspected and registered with Ofsted — rated a Good Provider — follow the EYFS statutory framework, and every member of the team holds up-to-date DBS checks, paediatric first aid and safeguarding training. Our kitchen also holds a 5 (Very Good) Food Hygiene Rating.
